I am currently a Career Development Fellow in English at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, where I research and teach medieval literature and culture and the history of the English language. Prior to this, I was a Junior Research Fellow at Christ Church, Oxford (2020-2024) and Postdoctoral Researcher on the project ‘Editing the Wycliffite Old Testament Lectionary’ at Oxford’s English Faculty. I spent eight years teaching the medieval period as a Stipendiary Lecturer at Trinity College, Oxford, where I also studied for my DPhil in English (awarded 2020, funded by a Clarendon Scholarship). I hold an M.A. degree and state exam in English Linguistics and Medieval English and German Literature from LMU University of Munich, where I previously taught undergraduate and graduate seminars on Medieval English before coming to Oxford. I have also held the Erika and Kenneth Riley Fellowship (2016) at the Huntington Library, California.
I am currently the Academic Advisor to the Oxford Programme for Undergraduate Studies, where I teach a broad range of English Literature topics to Visiting Students at the University of Oxford. I have been awarded grants and prizes from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Federal Government, the Research Centre at Christ Church, Oxford, the Clarendon Fund, and the English Faculty, Oxford. I am the founder of the Oxford Medieval Commentary Network, for which I regularly organise conferences and public engagement events connected to my research.
As a current Pro-Proctor to the Senior Proctor at the University of Oxford, I regularly fulfil ceremonial duties at degree ceremonies, university sermons, and other formal occasions.
